Our Masters by research programme provides the opportunity to undertake a short, in depth independent research project in one of our research groups. It will equip you for more sustained and original work at the doctoral level or for advanced-level applied research positions. This degree will develop relevant analytical and technical skills, together with transferable skills related to research, communication, problem solving, and independent working.
 

The course structure is typically divided into nine months of full-time laboratory work as part of a research team, followed by a three-month writing up period. You will be mentored by a chemistry academic and offered further opportunities for learning via our graduate training programme.
