Year 1 Required modules

You are required to take 30 credits from War Studies and 30 credits from History.

You are required to take the following War Studies modules:

• Contemporary Security Issues (15 credits)

• The Art of War Studies (15 credits)

You are required to take the following History module:

• Historical Skills, Sources & Approaches (30 credits)

Year 2 Required modules

• There are no required modules in Year 2.

Year 3 Required modules

If you are studying the three year BA, you will take the final year modules in your third year. If you choose a year abroad, you will spend your third year studying abroad to earn the equivalent of 120 credits before returning to complete a final year with King’s. This will depend on reaching a certain grade average and being accepted by a partner university. Our partner institutions currently include:

You are required to complete a 30-credit dissertation in either War Studies or History.

A-Levels

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.

Notes: If you are taking linear A-levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component. We do not consider the EPQ at any point of the assessment process.

The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.

Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits overall: 36 credits must be from units awarded at Distinction, with 9 at Merit. The Access to Higher Education Diploma should be in a relevant subject - Humanities, or similar - to be considered.

Contextual requirements

The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total. Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits overall: 30 credits must be from units awarded at Distinction, with 15 at Merit. The Access to Higher Education Diploma should be in a relevant subject - Humanities, or similar - to be considered.

Full time tuition fees UK:

The UK tuition fee is £9,250 per year

Full time tuition fees International:

The International tuition fee is £21,840 per year.
