Year 1 Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:

• The Causes and Consequences of War (30 credits)

• The History of Modern War (30 credits)

• The Global Experience of War (30 credits)

• The Art of War Studies (15 credits)

• Contemporary Security Issues (15 credits)

Year 2 Required modules

You are required to take the following module:

• Research Methods in War Studies and International Relations (15 credits)

• Global Cold War (15 credits)

Year 3 Required modules

If you are studying the three year BA, you will take the final year modules in your third year.

If you choose a year abroad, you will spend your third year studying abroad to earn the equivalent of 120 credits before returning to complete a final year with King’s. This will depend on reaching a certain grade average and being accepted by a partner university. Our partner institutions currently include:
