Structure
Courses are divided into modules. Each year you will normally take modules totalling 120 credits.

 

This is a four-year degree course in which you will take a combination of required and optional modules to total 360 credits.

Year 1

Required modules

Year 2

• Psychological Skills (15 Credits)
• Choice: Agency, Autonomy and Addiction (15 Credits)
• Distorted Worlds: Variability in Memory & Perception (15 Credits)
• The origins of Individual Differences (15 Credits)
• Research Methods 3 (15 Credits)
• Research Methods 4 (15 Credits)

Year 3

Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:

• BSc Psychology
• Research Project (45 credits)
• BSc Psychology with a year abroad

 

This is required for students with Psychology with a year abroad BSc.
Students on the four-year BSc Psychology with a year abroad course will spend their third year studying abroad before returning to complete their final year with us. Partner institutions currently include:

During the extra year abroad you are entitled to 120 credits.

Students must take the minimum credit requirement of their partner institution and pass at least 30 King’s credits whilst abroad

 

BSc Psychology with a year Professional Placement

 

Students on the four-year BSc Psychology with a year Professional Placement course will spend their third year on placement before returning to complete their final year with King’s.

Subject requirements
Required subjects:
A-level (or equivalent) grade A in one of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Psychology.

Preferred subjects:
Biology and Mathematics
A-Levels

Required grades:
A*AA

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.

 

Must include grade A in one of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Psychology.

 

Notes:
If you are taking linear A-levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component.

 

We do not consider the EPQ at any point of the assessment process.

Full time tuition fees UK:
The UK tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is currently £9,250 per year. This is based on the UK Government’s cap.

 

Full time tuition fees International:
The International tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is £32,940 per year.

 

Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.

 

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.

 

If you choose the study abroad option with one of King’s partner universities, you will not be charged tuition fees by the host university (although some partners do charge a small administration fee for applying). King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King's tuition fees.

 

You should also budget to pay for the associated subsistence costs, such as travel, visas, accommodation and food as well as any vaccination/immunisations required by the country to which you are travelling.

Psychology graduates have many opportunities based on their wide-ranging knowledge of human behaviour and how the mind works.

 

A Psychology degree provides graduates with a broad skill set including data analysis, problem solving, scientific and statistical literacy and effective communication.

 

Psychology graduates are notably flexible in the workplace and go on to succeed in a variety of professions including:

• Further study in order to become a research, forensic, educational or clinical psychologist.  
• Entering the public or private sector.
• Applying their knowledge to a range of roles in the fields of health and social care or education.
