Our Political Economy BA/BSc is a high-quality, interdisciplinary programme that will equip you with the skills and knowledge to understand, analyse and contribute to the political and economic institutions of the 21st century, both in the UK and globally. Depending on the modules you choose, you can graduate with either a BA or a BSc degree.

Program structure

Year 1 Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:
- Fundamentals of Politics Research (15 credits)
- Comparing Political Systems (30 credits)
- Introduction to Political Theory (30 credits)
- Principles of Economics (30 credits)
- Quantitative Methods (15 credits)
Year 2 Required modules

After your first year you will choose between the BA and BSc pathways. The following module is required for both of these routes:
- Political Economy: Approaches, Concepts and Issues (15 credits)
If you choose the BSc route you will also be required to take the following modules. These modules are also available as optional modules for students choosing the BA pathway:
- Macroeconomics (15 credits)
- Microeconomics (15 credits)
- Econometrics (15 credits)
Year 3 Required modules

There are no required modules for this year.
Entry Requirement
Must be registered on as a student at your home university for the duration of your time at King's (i.e you cannot be on a leave of absence from your degree) and your university is transferring at least some of the credits earned at King's towards your degree.
Undergraduate students must be registered on a BA/BSc/LLB or equivalent undergraduate degree.
Undertaken a minimum of 1 year of university level study.
