Required modules

• MSc Mathematics Project (60 credits)

The topic chosen for the project should be in Pure Mathematics.

In addition, you are required to take at least 75 credits from a prescribed list of modules, which may typically include:

• Advanced Algebra (15 credits)
• Lie Groups & Lie Algebras
• Infinite Dimensional Vector Spaces (15 credits)
• Manifolds (15 credits)
• Galois Theory (15 credits)
• Geometric Topology (15 credits)
• Algebraic Number Theory (15 credits)
• Operators on Infinite Dimensional Vector Spaces (15 credits)
• Fourier Analysis (15 credits)
• Algebraic Geometry (15 credits)
   

Standard requirements

• A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above.
• If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).

Other requirements
Bachelors degree with 2:1 honours degree with mathematics as a main field of study. We also welcome applications with a 2:2 Honours degree and assess them on an individual basis. Since the course has its emphasis on pure mathematics and theoretical physics, applicants are normally expected to have prerequisites in these areas of at least 180 credits (or equivalent).

Tuition Fees

UK:
Full time: £11,040 per year 

International:
Full time: £24,660 per year 

These tuition fees may be subject to additional increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.
