Structure

Courses are divided into modules. Each year you will normally take modules totalling 120 credits.

This is a three-year degree course in which you will take a combination of required and optional modules to total 360 credits.

Year 1

Required modules

You are required to do the following modules

• Criminal Law (30 credits)
• Elements of the Law of Contract (30 credits)
• European Law (30 credits)
• Public Law (30 credits)
• Legal Reasoning and Legal Services (non-credit bearing)

Year 2

Required modules

You are required to do the following modules

• Law of Property (30 credits)
• Law of Tort (30 credits)
• Law of Trusts (30 credits)

Year 3

Required modules

You are required to do the following modules

• Jurisprudence and Legal Theory (30 credits)

Standard requirements

• The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.
• Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits overall: 39 credits must be from units awarded at Distinction, with 6 at Merit.
• The Access to Higher Education Diploma should be in a relevant subject - Humanities, or similar - to be considered.

Contextual requirements

• The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.
• Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits overall: 33 credits must be from units awarded at Distinction, with 12 at Merit.
• The Access to Higher Education Diploma should be in a relevant subject - Humanities, or similar - to be considered.

Tuition Fees

Full time tuition fees UK:
The UK tuition fee for the academic year is currently £9,250 per year. This is based on the UK Government’s cap.

Full time tuition fees International:
The International tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is £25,950 per year.

Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.

If you choose one of the study abroad options with one of King’s partner universities the fees will be dependent upon your programme.

For Law with North American Legal Studies LLB, Law with Transnational Legal Studies LLB, Law with European Legal Studies LLB and English Law with Australasian Law LLB, you will not be charged tuition fees by the host university (although some partners do charge a small administration fee for applying). King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King's tuition fees.

For English Law and American Law LLB and JD, English Law with Hong Kong Law LLB and LLM and Singapore LLM Pathway you will pay the fees of the partner institute whilst attending the partner institute.

You should also budget to pay for the associated subsistence costs, such as travel, visas, accommodation and food as well as any vaccination/immunisations required by the country to which you are travelling. 

King’s law graduates are popular with many types of employers. The majority of our students choose to become solicitors in a wide range of firms including The Magic Circle, US and other leading law firms and specialist niche firms. Some choose broader business roles such a financial analyst, management consultant or graduate trainee.

Others find their law degree opens up opportunities in international development, advisory work, the public sector and teaching. Although the employment market is competitive, our students have been very successful in obtaining posts with the firms or sets of chambers for which they wanted to work. Many law firms will target you but they expect very high quality, motivated applicants in line with those from other top law schools both in the UK and overseas.
