Structure
This is a three-year degree course in which you will take a combination of required and optional modules to total 360 credits. Students will have the option to apply to study abroad for a year, which would extend the programme to a four-year degree course if they are successful.

Year 1

Required modules

Courses are divided into modules. Each year you will normally take modules totaling 120 credits.

You are required to take the following modules:

• Introduction to Global Health 1 & 2 (15 credits each)
• Introduction to Social Medicine 1 & 2 (15 credits each)
• Research Practice & Design Studio (30 credits)

You are also required to select one of the below biomedical pathways to follow throughout your degree and take 30 credits from that pathway to make up 25% of your first year of study:

Neuroscience pathway

You are required to take the following modules:
• Cell Biology & Neuroscience (15 credits)
• Fundamentals of Pharmacology (15 credits)
 

Subject requirements
Required subjects:
A-level (or equivalent) grade B in Biology or Chemistry.

Preferred subjects:
None.
A-Levels

Required grades:
AAB

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.

Must include grade B in Biology or Chemistry.

Notes:
If you are taking linear A-levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component.

We do not consider the EPQ at any point of the assessment process.

Full time tuition fees UK:
The UK tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is currently £9,250 per year. This is based on the UK Government’s cap.

Full time tuition fees International:
The International tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is £29,460 per year.

Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.

If you choose the study abroad option with one of King’s partner universities, you will not be charged tuition fees by the host university (although some partners do charge a small administration fee for applying). King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King's tuition fees.

With the job market becoming ever more competitive, it has been reported that King’s offers its graduates the best job prospects of any London or Russell Group university, with an employment rate of 95.2 percent, an increase of 2.6 percent on last year. The data, compiled by The Careers Group, University of London, is based on institutional Employment Performance Indicators (EPI) for full-time, first degree, UK domiciled graduates in work or further study.

King’s has the highest EPI in the Russell Group and the largest increase in benchmark performance from 2009-10 figures. The results also place King’s third overall in the UK as reported in The Telegraph’s ‘Top 10 universities for getting a job’. Robert Hall, Director of Library Services & Employability, said: ‘This is testament to the commitment the university is making in ensuring that our students develop the right skills to succeed in the work place.’

This degree course equips students for a wide range of career options in the health services, in public health, in government and NGOs in the UK and elsewhere, and in the commercial medical and health sectors, as well as for future careers in academic research and teaching.
