Structure
This is a three-year degree course in which you will take a combination of required and optional modules to total 360 credits. Students will have the option to apply to study abroad for a year, which would extend the programme to a four-year degree course if they are successful

Year 1

Required modules

The course consists of a mixture of required and optional modules, and a research-based dissertation in the final year. Required modules are all taught from within the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, which also offers optional modules in Years Two and Three. Courses are divided into modules. Each year you will normally take modules totaling 120 credits.

• Introduction to Global Health 1 (15 credits)
• Introduction to Global Health 2 (15 credits)
• Introduction to Social Medicine 1 (15 credits)
• Introduction to Social Medicine 2 (15 credits)
• Research Practice & Design Studio (30 credits)
• Foundations in Social Science and Social Theory (30 credits)

Year 2

Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:

• Key Concepts in Global Health (30 credits)
• Key Concepts in Social Medicine (30 credits)
• The Dissertation Laboratory (15 credits)

Year 3

Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:

• Contemporary Crises in Global Health & Social Medicine (15 credits)
• Dissertation in Global Health & Social Medicine (30 credits)

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.

Notes:
If you are taking linear A-levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component.

We do not consider the EPQ at any point of the assessment process.

Full time tuition fees UK:
The UK tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is currently £9,250 per year. This is based on the UK Government’s cap.

Full time tuition fees International:
The International tuition fee for the 2022-2023 academic year is £21,840 per year.

Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.

This degree course equips you with the transferable skills of research, analysis and critical thinking, a skill set that’s highly valued and sought after by employers.

Our graduates enter a wide range of professions within the health services, public health, government and NGOs in the UK and elsewhere; as well as in the commercial, medical and health sectors. A significant proportion proceed into higher professional or academic qualifications, often pursuing postgraduate degrees at King’s.

With the job market becoming ever more competitive, it has been reported that King’s offers its graduates the best job prospects of any London or Russell Group university, with an employment rate of 95.2 per cent, an increase of 2.6 per cent on last year.

The data, compiled by The Careers Group, University of London, is based on institutional Employment Performance Indicators (EPI) for full-time, first degree, UK domiciled graduates in work or further study.

King’s has the highest EPI in the Russell Group and the largest increase in benchmark performance from 2009-10 figures. The results also place King’s third overall in the UK as reported in The Telegraph’s ‘Top 10 universities for getting a job’.
