Structure

Required modules

You are required to take:

• Advanced Skills for Historians (30 credits)
• Britain Since 1900 (30 credits)
• Dissertation (60 Credits)

Optional modules

In addition, you are required to take four modules (totalling 60 credits) from a range that typically includes the following from History and other departments.

• Britain & Decolonisation (15 credits) (History)
• The British Empire (15 credits) (History)
• Gender & British Society (15 credits) (History)
• Science, War & the Nation: Britain 1900–2000 (15 credits) (History)
• Anglo-American Relations (15 credits) (DPE)
• Britain & the Cold War (15 credits) (DPE)
   

Standard requirements

• A minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above.
• If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).
   

Other requirements

• 2:1 undergraduate degree in history, politics or a relevant discipline, eg public policy, law or social science.
• Evidence of achievement of an academic level comparable to at least 2:1 honours standard through past studies, and where previous study, work or experience (eg in government or NGO service) has made the applicant a suitable candidate, will also be considered.
• In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme.

UK:

Full time: £11,040 per year (2022/23)
 

International:

Full time: £24,660 per year (2022/23)
 

These tuition fees may be subject to additional increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.
 

Deposit

When you receive an offer for this course you will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your place. The deposit will be credited towards your total fee payment.
 

The UK deposit is £500.
 

The International deposit is £2,000.
