Program Overview

Become an expert in how the cultural and creative industries operate, the ways in which media shapes our lives and how we, in turn, influence the media and creative sectors. On our flexible Culture, Media & Creative Industries BA, you'll study a huge variety of topics - from film, music, games and immersive technologies to theatres, museums, heritage, contemporary art and more. With a strong focus on your professional development, studying this degree will provide you with a springboard into careers across the cultural sector. This is a theory-based course with close connections with industry experts and some practical assessments.

Structure
Courses are divided into modules. Each year you will normally take modules totalling 120 credits.

This is a three-year degree course in which you will take a combination of required and optional modules to total 360 credits.

Year 1

Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:
- Media 1.0 – Histories, Theories and Analysis (15 credits)
- Media 2.0 – Audiences, Industries and Convergence (15 credits)
- Culture and Identity: Key Concepts and Debates (15 credits)
- Cultural Production in a Changing World (15 credits)
- Creative Institutions and Industries: Policy and Politics (15 credits)
- Creative Institutions and Industries: Practice and Management (15 credits)
Year 2

Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:
- Diversity Matters (15 credits)
- Creative Living and Learning (15 credits)
Year 3

Required modules

You are required to take the following modules:

Events and Festivals: From Conception to Realisation (15 credits)
Dissertation (30 credits)
Entry Requirement
Must be registered on as a student at your home university for the duration of your time at King's (i.e you cannot be on a leave of absence from your degree) and your university is transferring at least some of the credits earned at King's towards your degree.
Undergraduate students must be registered on a BA/BSc/LLB or equivalent undergraduate degree.
Undertaken a minimum of 1 year of university level study.
