Anatomy, Developmental and Human Biology BSc

Courses are divided into modules. You will normally take modules totalling 360 credits.
 

There are options to switch to any other course in the Bioscience suite after Year 1 or to transfer to a four-year MSci. On the three year BSc programme, you can also choose to study a full year abroad between years two and three. This will change your programme from a three year programme, to a four year programme.
 

Year 1

Required modules

• Fundamentals of Physiology & Anatomy (30 credits)

• Structural Basis of Human Function (30 credits)
• Essentials of Embryology (15 credits)
   

Year 3

Required modules

During your third year, you are required to take a project. This can be one of:

• Anatomy, Developmental & Human Biology Library Project (15 credits)
• Experimental Project in Anatomy, Developmental & Human Biology (45 credits)
• Laboratory Research Project in Neuroscience (45 credits)
• Data Collection & Analysis Projects in Surgical Sciences & Anatomy (30 credits)

Year 4

Optional modules

If you have transferred to the Year Abroad programme, you will study abroad at a partner institution in your third year. You will then return to King’s and complete the required & optional modules from Year 3 in your final year.

Standard requirements
 

• The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.
• Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits overall: 36 credits must be from units awarded at Distinction, with 9 at Merit.
• The Access to Higher Education Diploma must include at least 15 Level 3 credits in Biology awarded at Distinction, and at least 15 Level 3 credits in Chemistry awarded at Distinction.
• The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be in a relevant subject - Science or similar - to be considered.

Where our online prospectus asks for a specific subject grade at A-level, we would require the following: A* - Achieve 90% in the required subject; A - Achieve 85% in the required subject; B - Achieve 80% in the required subject

The International tuition fee for the academic year is £29,460 per year.
 

Please note that the International tuition fee is subject to annual increases in subsequent years of study, in line with King’s terms and conditions.
 

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
 

If you choose the study abroad option with one of King’s partner universities, you will not be charged tuition fees by the host university (although some partners do charge a small administration fee for applying). King’s will continue to invoice for a proportion of King's tuition fees. You should also budget to pay for the associated subsistence costs, such as travel, visas, accommodation and food as well as any vaccination/immunisations required by the country to which you are travelling.   Please see the Study Abroad web pages for details of the relevant partner universities and detailed information on the fees that apply under the Course Essentials tab.
