About
Hertfordshire International College (HIC), or Hertfordshire International College of Business & Technology (HIBT), was founded in 2000 in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire (UH) and is located on the College Lane Campus. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate pathways into the University of Hertfordshire degree programmes for international students. HIC is located on the vibrant and modern University of Hertfordshire campus in the heart of Hatfield, giving the opportunity to meet students from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
Hatfield College of Technology was established in 1952, and the University of Hertfordshire was designated as a university in 1992. Hatfield College of Technical was established in 1948 and was ranked among the top 25 technology colleges in the United Kingdom in 1959. Hatfield Polytechnic was granted university status by the British government in 1992, and its name was changed to the University of Hertfordshire in 1993. It is a modern university located about 35 kilometres north of London in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. The university takes pride in having a "business-facing" attitude and strives to be more innovative in teaching and learning, as well as providing a diverse range of employment opportunities and study abroad opportunities.
The university is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, which is made up of 535 higher education institutions from 37 Commonwealth countries. It is also a member of the University Alliance, a network of British universities founded in 2006 and given that name in 2007. The MBA programme at the school is affiliated with The Association of MBAs, the world's only Accreditation and Membership Organization for MBAs. It is a public university that offers a wide range of degree programmes in fields such as business, law, humanities, engineering technology, computer science, social work education, and the creative and performing arts. If you are unable to speak English at the level required for admission to your desired degree programme, the university offers pre-sessional English short courses and a HIC pathway. Please be aware that you must pass one of the new Secure English Language Tests (SELT), Academic IELTS, or Trinity College Tests of English in order to be eligible for a student visa for a preparatory course (the UK only).
