Program Overview
Most cross-disciplinary partnerships are built around accurate and efficient scientific computations. It is critical that such computations are carried out in a stable, efficient manner, and that the numerical results converge to the genuine solutions of the dynamics of the physics, chemistry, or biology in the problem.
The programme is structured similarly to our MSc in Applied Mathematical Sciences, and it is intended to provide students with the ability to undertake efficient and accurate computer simulations in a wide range of applied mathematics, physics, chemistry, and industry challenges.
Students will conduct research projects with a significant computational component. Examples include spectral pollution, domain decomposition, groundwater contamination, oil reservoir simulation, computational neuroscience, uncertainty estimation, and other cutting-edge areas.
