It was established as a degree-awarding university in 1992 in accordance with the Further and Higher Education Act. DMU was named after Simon de Montfort, a 13th-century Earl of Leicester who is credited with establishing England's first Parliament in 1265.

De Montfort University Entry Requirements

Students can apply for DMU admissions through the online application form, DMU online portal or UCAS by using the institution code. Below is a list of the essential De Montfort University entry requirements, academic standards and language competency tests required for applying to the various programmes the university provides -
