Who is this course for?
This course is for professional engineers who want to specialise in structural engineering or move into this area of expertise to advance their career.
You will have a degree in engineering or a related discipline.
If you don’t have qualifications in civil engineering it’s likely you’ll have relevant work experience in civil engineering structures.

Modules:
- 8 in total
- Core modules: 6
- Optional modules: 2
Full time: attend taught modules during terms 1 and 2 and complete your Dissertation project within the 12-months.
Part time: attend half the taught modules in the first 12-months, followed by the other half the next academic year. The Dissertation project is undertaken in the second year and submitted within 27 months from the start of the course.
Modules
These modules will give you unique insight into computer analysis of structures for blast and fire, bridge engineering, and earthquake analysis where you may look at techniques for analysing structures and safe design.
