International Economics, Banking and Finance (MSc)

First semester modules provide a foundation for the programme. Three core modules consolidate and extend your existing understanding of finance and economics in preparation for your specialist study of international money and banking.
 

In the second semester you will study two additional core modules as well as one optional module reflecting your particular career interests.
 

After successful completion of the taught stage you will progress to the individual research project. This research project is designed to enable you to apply the knowledge, understanding and skills learnt in the taught modules to individual independent research under academic supervision. You will hone your ability to search, use and analyse real and relevant data. This is supported by one of the core modules focusing on the tools and techniques of quantitative research.

Academic requirements:

Typically you will need to have either:

• a 2:1 honours degree (GPA 3.0/4.0), which must include the following modules all passed with at least UK 60%/2:1, or equivalent: basic quantitative methods, macroeconomics, and microeconomics
• a university-recognised equivalent academic qualification 
• or relevant professional experience (appropriate evidence will be required). 
   

English Language requirements:

IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 with at least 6.0 in all subskills, or an accepted equivalent.
