This course is aimed at sports science graduates. Graduates should ideally hold a degree with a 2:1 classification in a relevant subject such as sport or exercise science (lower classifications will be considered based on experience). Some experience of working in the healthcare industry would be beneficial.
 

You will be interviewed by a member of the course team. If you do not meet the entry requirements a member of the course team will be able to advise you regarding additional training you may undertake at the university or outside in order to be eligible for the course.
 

You will also need to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

A Sports Therapist is a healthcare professional. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to apply for full membership of The Society of Sports Therapists. With appropriate insurance this will enable you to work autonomously within professional and elite sport, the NHS or in private practice. This course is based upon placement and work experience opportunities which will enable development of key contacts within industry to help the progression into a career in Sports Therapy. Your dissertation will also be centred around the opportunity to publish your work and may lead into further research work, including PhD.
