MSc International Project Management

Year 1:

As an MSc International Project Management student, you’ll focus on practical advanced concepts, processes, and techniques that manage modern projects with complex and constantly changing knowledge and innovation-driven business environments.

We cover research, leadership, law, innovation, change management and global project management environments. You will document risks while developing project plans and budgets and their impact on objectives, developing a risk register, assessing the impact of each risk, simulating the impacts on the project plan, and then problem-solving with response actions to treat the impact.

We’ll also look into processes critical to business success, and benchmarking and refining those processes. You’ll be introduced to tools and techniques measuring KPIs and critical success factors for a variety of firms.

The course culminates in the Major Project, which involves detailed research, analysis, and reporting of a project management-related issue.

Assessment
We will assess your progress through coursework, group assignments, activity-based assignments, exams, and a Postgraduate Major Project. You can expect to take part in ongoing problem-solving activities, projects, and presentations to underpin exploration and exploration of sophisticated commercial, financial, legal and operational aspects of the profession and develop an effective project leadership 'toolkit'.

Standard Entry Requirements:
 

Applicants must have:

• the equivalent of a UK first degree at 2:2 or above plus relevant experience
• previously been taught in English and have sufficient command of English to undertake postgraduate study, or have an IELTS (or equivalent) score of 6.5 or better.
   

If you have completed a bachelors degree or an equivalent non-UK qualification and did not achieve our required grades for entry, but can demonstrate that your life/work skills would make you suitable, you should still consider applying.
