On our MA Intercultural Communication, you’ll discover the importance of intercultural relationships both to the modern socio-economic climate – and to building a successful career within it.

As part of our postgraduate community in Cambridge, you’ll work alongside students from all over the world, gaining an additional understanding of intercultural environments that will support your studies.

If you’re studying this Masters full-time you’ll have the opportunity to spend a placement semester at a European university via the Eurocampus.

Course Content
TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT

1 year full-time (September start)
Year 1

Your studies on this MA Intercultural Communication will be conducted mainly, but not exclusively, within the framework of Europe.
For full-time students this includes the opportunity to study for a semester at one of a network of European universities. You’ll be taught in English by specialists from the contributing universities but will also have the opportunity to learn the local language.

You’ll have a genuine intercultural experience of education in a multinational group, and of a variety of European approaches to learning and teaching.

An alternative Cambridge-based module explores the development of relations, communication styles and values between individuals and groups of different cultural backgrounds. Practical case studies will include aspects of changing behaviour, discrimination and racism.

For your Major Project you’ll explore in depth a topic that reflects your particular area of interest.

Modules are subject to change and availability.

Assessment

If you choose the Cambridge-only route, you will demonstrate your progress on the course through written coursework (eg a 6,000-word essay) and short presentations in some modules. You will also complete a 15,000-word dissertation.

If you choose the Eurocampus route, your method of assessment will change depending on the institution you attend.

A recognised pre-Masters course.
3 year Bachelors or 4 year Bachelor Engineering or Technology, minimum division 2 (50% - 59%) in relevant subjects.
4 year Bachelor of Laws complying with above for entry to LLM.
Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delhi or the University of Calcutta with 45%.
