Whole course
In this year you’ll gain an understanding of market and business contexts and how they affect HR, and how HR can contribute to organisations’ welfare and monetary profit. You’ll reflect on different ways of working and gain a thorough understanding of employment legislation so that you have confidence in applying and advising on UK employment law.

You’ll develop the intellectual and practical skills needed to undertake relevant research within your chosen organisation. These transferable research skills will further develop your employability and professionalism.

We’ll provide you with a rigorous framework of knowledge and understanding of people management and development in a global context. Through debate, the use of financial information, knowledge of organisational behaviour and project management you’ll develop and apply technical strategic, performance management and development concepts to encourage creative decision-making.

Your Major Project is a piece of individual primary or secondary research. You’ll have regular supervisory meetings throughout the year to help you complete your project effectively.

We’ll assess your progress through written work, group and individual presentations.

Standard entry requirements

Main
A first degree of 2:2 or above in a relevant subject, or a degree of 2.2 or above in any subject plus relevant experience.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

International students starting 2022/23 (full-time, per year)
You can pay your tuition fees upfront, in full or in two instalments. We will also ask you for a deposit of £4,000 or a sponsorship letter. Details will be in your offer letter.

Careers
After this course you’ll have a sound basis for taking on senior HR roles such as HR director, manager, officer, advisor or training officer. We help you understand what a team and a company needs, and know how to make that happen with people as a driving force. Your qualification is recognised by CIPD, the UK's most credible specialist human resources training and awarding body, as an advanced qualification (entry on this course does not confer membership – you will need to apply directly to CIPD for that).

Leading, managing and developing people, HRM strategy and practice requires a skillset this MA in Human Resource Management will immerse you in. You’ll be equipped with an in-depth knowledge of schools of thought on strategic HRM and ability to accommodate and synthesise new knowledge from inside and outside your domestic economy, aware of your social and ethical responsibilities, able to communicate clearly and to solve problems. Able to formulate your own views you can work with confidence: independently, as a member, or a leader of a group.
