Standard entry requirements

Main

112 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent), including Biology.
3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths.

If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

Alternatives

BTEC Extended Diplomas in Applied Science, Applied Science (Forensic Science), Applied Science (Biomedical Science) and Applied Science (Medical Science) only are accepted for entry to this course.

International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted, this must include Biology at Higher level.
UCAS Tariff Points from Access to HE Diplomas in a related subject are accepted. A minimum of 15 credits in Biology are required.
UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted, this must include a Pass in a related subject.

UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted, this must include a Pass in a related subject.
The European Baccalaureate at a minimum overall grade of 60% is accepted, this must include Biology at Higher level.
HNC qualifications in a related subject are accepted.
HND qualifications in a related subject are accepted.

International students starting 2022/23 (full-time, per year)
You can pay your tuition fees upfront, in full or in two instalments. We will also ask you for a deposit of £4,000 or a sponsorship letter. Details will be in your offer letter.

Careers

Our three-year course is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, setting you up for a trainee position in an NHS laboratory as a Health and Care Professions Council-registered biomedical scientist after you graduate.

Both our three-year and four-year (placement) courses are accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, preparing you for a wide range of biomedical roles or further study.

If you pass the UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) and have relevant work experience in the healthcare sector, you can apply for a four- or five-year accelerated programme at a UK medical school after graduation.
