Year 1

We’ll assess you throughout the course so that you can measure your progress. Most of this assessment will be based on case studies, as well as class-based laboratory tests, group work, presentations and reports.

Standard entry requirements

Main

• 104 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent).
• 3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English and Maths.
• If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.

• UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are accepted.
• International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted.
• UCAS Tariff Points from Access to HE Diplomas in a related subject are accepted.
• UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted.
• UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted.
• UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted.
• The European Baccalaureate at a minimum overall grade of 60% is accepted.
• HNC qualifications are accepted.
• HND qualifications are accepted.

Tuition fees for international students (2022/23)
£14,300

International students starting 2022/23 (full-time, per year)
You can pay your tuition fees upfront, in full or in two instalments. We will also ask you for a deposit of £4,000 or a sponsorship letter. Details will be in your offer letter.

Careers

With our Computer Networks degree, you’ll build the skills you need to design, configure, manage and support networks in companies both big and small. You could work as a certified networking engineer in an organisation or even be self-employed.

Alongside these skills, you’ll also acquire a solid understanding in a number of areas of computer science including programming, computer systems and digital security, providing a foundation for any number of careers including web development, IT systems or even creating your own apps.

As part of your Computer Networks studies, the opportunity of a placement year could see you working in industry, making contacts and building up your experience and knowledge in the kind of environment you might ultimately work in.
