Standard entry requirements

Main

• 96 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent).
• 3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above.
• If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
• You may also be accepted to this course with an IELTS 5.5 (Academic level- with no individual score being lower than 5.5) or equivalent English Language qualification as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University, but will then be required to undertake additional compulsory free English language modules in your first year.
   

Alternatives

• UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas are accepted (a pass in A Level History will also be required).
• UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted.
• International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted, including Higher Level History.
• UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted. This must include Higher Level History.
• UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted. This must include Higher Level History.
• UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted. This must include Higher Level History.
• UCAS Tariff points acquired from the International Baccalaureate Certificate are accepted, related subjects are required.

Tuition fees for international students (2022/23)
£14,300

International students starting 2022/23 (full-time, per year)
You can pay your tuition fees upfront, in full or in two instalments. We will also ask you for a deposit of £4,000 or a sponsorship letter. Details will be in your offer letter.

Careers

What can you do with a BA (Hons) History degree? The answer: Almost anything! Former ARU History graduates are now at work in the civil service, teaching, museums and heritage management, the police, the armed forces as well as other rewarding and enjoyable jobs.
You’ll also become skilled in data analysis, research, critical thinking and complex problem solving. Whichever career path you follow, you can be sure you’ll graduate with the knowledge, skills and abilities that employers need. We work with them to design our courses, and they help us review what we teach and how we teach it.
