Founded in 1434, the University of Catania is the oldest university in Sicily and the 13th oldest in Italy. The University of Catania has three major university residence facilities - University Residence Toscano Scuderi, University Residence in Ragusa - Casa Castilet, and University Residence in Siracusa - La Giudecca.
