MSc in Digital Health Transformation

at University of Limerick

This programme will run over 18 months.  Taught modules are delivered over two semesters.  In addition, participants undertake a substantial digital health transformation project.

Programme Delivery

This programme is delivered using a blended learning approach.  For the taught element, in each semester participants will attend a residential block of one week and five in-house blocks.  Each in-house block comprises a consecutive Friday and Saturday.  Residential blocks will take place at the University of Limerick while the locations of in-house blocks will rotate among the participating institutions.

Digital Health Transformation Project (30 ECTS credits)
 

• Through the medium of undertaking a substantial project, members of each group will integrate and apply their previous learning to develop and deploy a digital transformation solution or capability which will have a significant positive impact for the Irish Health System.  
• The project definition phase will be undertaken between Semesters 1 and 2 while the transformation phase will commence at the start of Semester 2 and extend just over five months beyond Semester 2.

• A healthcare administrator, healthcare manager or healthcare professional who holds a primary undergraduate degree (NFQ, 2.2 honours or higher)

Or
 

• An applicant who holds a primary undergraduate degree (2.2 honours or higher) in a health sciences discipline

Or
 

• An information technology specialist who holds a primary undergraduate degree (2.2 honours or higher) with experience of working in a healthcare setting.

Or
 

• An applicant with at least five years work experience in a healthcare related industry who can satisfy the course admission team that they have the ability to complete and benefit from this course.

• Applicants may be asked to attend interview.

The cost of studying at University of Limerick varies largely depending on the type of university and the degree chosen. More often than not, humanities, arts, and education courses are less expensive than degrees in medical, engineering, or management. Furthermore, students who choose to study at the postgraduate level typically pay higher tuition fees, which again vary depending on the programme chosen.
