Program Overview

Energy management is the process of monitoring, controlling and conserving energy in a building. With the introduction of the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings, there is a statutory obligation for all domestic, commercial and industrial buildings to comply. This course aims to prepare graduates to meet the current engineering, energy and environmental challenges facing us on a national and international level. The course will focus on building energy systems, energy assessment, energy policy, facilities management, renewable technologies, taking account of security of supply, competitiveness of our energy supply and the impact of climate change and CO2 emissions.
 

What other options do I have after completion?
This qualification will give graduates the opportunity of entering the Energy Industry which has been identified as one of the major growth areas in this century where there will be interesting and well paid jobs. Graduates of the BSc in Electrical Services and Energy Management may also pursue master’s courses within TU Dublin and elsewhere in Higher Education.
 

Learning Outcomes: What will I Study?
This course has been designed to build upon the energy, environment and management content of the level 7 degree in Electrical Services Engineering providing seamless and coherent progression for graduates from this course. The course will also be of interest to graduates from other disciplines wishing to advance their knowledge, skill and competence in the field of electrical services and energy management.

  • HSC XII: CBSE, ICSE, Kolkata or Tamil Nadu boards with an overall average of 70% or above.
  • HSC XII: West Bengal board with an overall average of 58% or above.
  • HSC XII: Maharashtra or Gujarat boards with an overall average of 75% or above.
  • HSC XII: All other state boards with an overall average of 80%+ or above.

  • Successful completion of Standard XI with 55% OR successful completion of Standard XII 50% plus successful completion of TU Dublin Foundation or another recognised pre-university foundation with relevant subjects and 60% - 65%.

  • Successful completion of 1 year of a Indian degree with average of 55% with relevant subjects at a recognised third-level or higher education institution in addition to completion of senior high school. This assessment will be on a case-by-case basis.
