Program Overview

This course aims to produce graduates with the skills needed for employment as technicians/technologists or scientific personnel in the fields of biotechnology and biosciences.

The first year of the course will give you a solid foundation in biology, chemistry and physics.

Year 2 focuses on the core subject areas of biochemistry, cell and molecular biology and microbiology. The final year builds on these core subjects, together with biotechnology and the specialised bio-industry-focused modules of pharmacology and toxicology, along with research methods and applications.

These five core module are also common to TU754 - Industrial & Environmental Physics, TU762 - Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences and TU755 – Science (General Entry).

Students taking the Biosciences course take two additional core modules: (a) Introduction to Microbiology and (b) Human Body and Disease and select a third optional module from Physics or Chemistry.

Entry Requirement
HSC XII: CBSE, ICSE, Kolkata or Tamil Nadu boards with an overall average of 70% or above.
HSC XII: West Bengal board with an overall average of 58% or above.
HSC XII: Maharashtra or Gujarat boards with an overall average of 75% or above.
HSC XII: All other state boards with an overall average of 80%+ or above.
Successful completion of Standard XI with 55% OR successful completion of Standard XII 50% plus successful completion of TU Dublin Foundation or another recognised pre-university foundation with relevant subjects and 60% - 65%.
Successful completion of 1 year of a Indian degree with average of 55% with relevant subjects at a recognised third-level or higher education institution in addition to completion of senior high school. This assessment will be on a case-by-case basis.
