Minimum Entry Requirements
 

Leaving Certificate

Leaving Certificate in six subjects i.e. H5 in two subjects, and O6/H7 in four other subjects. The six subjects must include Mathematics, and either English or Irish.

Vetting

Vetting is conducted by the National Vetting Bureau (formerly known as the Garda Central Vetting Unit).  The National Vetting Bureau (NVB) helps to assess the suitability of all applicants on this programme. It is important to note that participation in or completion of this programme may be affected by subsequent disclosure/discovery.

Info re MTU Mathematics Exam only

Some students who apply to MTU courses may not achieve the required entry standard in Mathematics through the Leaving Certificate. For such applicants, MTU offers a second chance to reach the required entry standard through a MTU Mathematics Exam. This second chance facility allows applicants (depending on their results in the MTU Mathematics Examination) to gain entry to courses with an Ordinary Leaving Certificate Mathematics entry standard, and (with a higher level of performance) courses with a Higher Leaving Certificate entry standard. The fees for Sport & Exercise Management (BBus (Honours)) may vary from  €10,000 to €25,000 anually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for international students.

 

 

This programme offers students the knowledge, skills and competencies to work at management level in sport, exercise, health and physical activity promotion. Graduates will have expertise in their chosen field by completing specific niche modules in the sport/exercise/health domain (e.g. Advanced Coaching Pedagogy, Strength and Conditioning, Performance Analysis and Management, Applied Sports Psychology, and Clinical Exercise). 

In addition, graduates who successfully complete this Level 8 course of study will have increased opportunities to apply for progression to Level 9/10 programmes in the sport/exercise/ health domain,
