Semester Schedules

• Complete the Leaving Certificate examination in six subjects with a minimum result of H5 in two subjects, and O6/H7 in four other subjects. The six subjects must include Mathematics, and either English or Irish.

• Successfully complete an assessment by our Approved Training Organisation partner (Atlantic Flight Training Academy). This may involve a simulator assessment, an interview and a medical assessment. 

• Note there is a substantial non-standard cost associated with completing this programme as the aviation aspect of the programme is not covered by Government supports. This must be considered by all applicants.
   

  IELTS (Academic)

  L1: At least 6.0 with no section below 5.5
   

  TOEFL

  L1: At least 80 - with minimum scores: Listening- 17; Reading - 18; Speaking – 20; Writing - 17

   

The fees for Global Business and Pilot Studies BSc (Honours) may vary from - €10,000 to €25,000 anually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for international students.

Year 1: €3,007 payable to MTU.

Years 2 & 3: €79,000* payable to AFTA, plus €357 to MTU.

Year 4: €3,500 payable to MTU. 

*This amount is payable to AFTA for the integrated flight training programme. Please refer to  www.afta.ie for a summary of included and excluded costs) Agreed instalment plans are available. 

Additional costs may be incurred during the process of flight training such as:

• Online CUT-E assessment €59 and AFTA assessment fee: €300.

• Medical exam for EASA Class 1 Initial Medical: €650

• Renewal of EASA Class 1 Medical: €250

• Type-Rating: <€30,000 (employer dependant)

• ATPL theory exams and licence fees: Approximately €2,000

This pathway enables students to gain a broad understanding of commercial and operational considerations of a business environment with some emphasis on that of an airline environment. Decision making and teamwork skills are enhanced during these stages which lend themselves to increasing the abilities of the student and creating a better equipped pilot. The competencies developed during this programme will help put students in a position whereby they can progress their professional aviation careers in an industry that is multi-faceted and where transferable skills are invaluable.
