Program Overview

Contemporary Applied Art encourages fresh ideas, inventive use of materials and techniques, and offers students the opportunity to critically engage with current practice. The course combines studio projects with practical workshop based sessions, alongside contextual academic studies where ideas, historical reference and making are integrated.

Entry Requirement
For a place on this programme, offers are made based on the portfolio assessment results to applicants who meet the academic minimum entry requirements: Leaving Certificate in six subjects i.e. H5 in two subjects, and O6/H7 in four other subjects. The six subjects must include English or Irish.

There is no specific Mathematics requirement. Grade F2 or higher in Foundation Level Mathematics is recognised as one of the subjects.

Leaving Cert Subjects:
- Helpful subjects are Art, and Design and Communication Graphics.

L1: At least 6.0 with no section below 5.5

TOEFL

L1: At least 80 - with minimum scores: Listening- 17; Reading - 18; Speaking – 20; Writing - 17
