Semester Schedules

For admission to a programme, standard applicants must

• score the necessary CAO points and

• meet the minimum entry requirements

• Leaving Certificate in six subjects i.e. H5 in two subjects, and O6/H7 in four other subjects. The six subjects must include Mathematics, and either English or Irish.

• Helpful subjects are Design and Communication Graphics, and Construction Studies.
   

Info re MTU Cork Mathematics Exam only

Some students who apply to MTU Cork courses may not achieve the required entry standard in Mathematics through the Leaving Certificate. For such applicants, MTU Cork offers a second chance to reach the required entry standard through a MTU Cork Mathematics Exam. This second chance facility allows applicants (depending on their results in the MTU Cork Mathematics Examination) to gain entry to courses with an Ordinary Leaving Certificate Mathematics entry standard, and (with a higher level of performance) courses with a Higher Leaving Certificate entry standard.

The fees for Civil Engineering (BEng degree) (Level 7) BEng may vary from - €10,000 to €25,000 anually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for international students.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering is the traditional academic qualification for Engineering Technologist entry to the civil engineering profession. Graduates of the programme will have reached the educational standard required for Ordinary Membership of Engineers Ireland.**

Graduates will be well equipped to meet these demands and will find employment opportunities in Consulting Engineering Offices and with Building & Civil Engineering contractors. Graduates will be also be well placed to pursue further studies in specialist engineering disciplines such as environmental, energy, structural or transportation engineering as well as in management programmes.
