For admission to a programme, standard applicants must

• score the necessary CAO points and

• meet the minimum entry requirements
   

Leaving Certificate in six subjects i.e. H5 in two subjects, and O6/H7 in four other subjects. The six subjects must include English, Irish, Mathematics, and a Laboratory Science Subject*.
 

Info re MTU Mathematics Exam only:

Some students who apply to MTU courses may not achieve the required entry standard in Mathematics through the Leaving Certificate. For such applicants, MTU  offers a second chance to reach the required entry standard through a MTU Mathematics Exam. This second chance facility allows applicants (depending on their results in the MTU  Mathematics Examination) to gain entry to courses with an Ordinary Leaving Certificate Mathematics entry standard, and (with a higher level of performance) courses with a Higher Leaving Certificate entry standard.

The fees for Analytical Chemistry with Quality Assurance (BSc Honours) (Level 8)  may vary from - €10,000 to €25,000 anually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for international students.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Analytical Chemistry with Quality Assurance prepares students for laboratory careers in the pharmachem industries. Graduates identify and solve analytical problems by the selection and use of a wide range of methods and techniques – from the mainstream areas of spectroscopy, chromatography, and electrochemistry, to more specialised areas such as particle size analysis or immunoassay techniques.

The BSc ACQUA additionally focuses on quality assurance, which is of vital importance to the pharmaceutical, chemical and allied industries. Graduates are prepared for laboratory careers in the
pharmachem industries and are qualified in areas such as Quality Standards, Good Manufacturing Practice, Total Quality Management, and Regulatory Compliance. They may take up leadership roles in areas such as method design and implementation, process validation, and management of quality systems.
