Overview
About
Established in 1975, Dublin Business School was formerly known as Accountancy and Business College. It began its journey by offering evening courses for students preparing for professional examinations of accounting bodies. In 1989, under the Liverpool John Moores University franchise, DBS introduced its first undergraduate degree programme. In 1992, DBS became a designated institution certified by HETAC. In 2000, Dublin Business School merged with LSB College, currently the Dublin School of Arts. In 2003, it was acquired by Kaplan, Inc. This move led to the acquisition of European Business School (2006) and Portobello College (2007) for expansion to the European market.
Through hard work, determination, and progressive development, Dublin Business School became a business school offering full-time and part-time accounting, banking, and marketing courses. DBS is the largest independent third-level institution in Ireland. With an acceptance rate of about 55%, DBS offers various programme levels from undergraduate, postgraduate and professional options. Dublin Business School is credited by Quality & Qualifications Ireland, and its relevant programs are recognized by the Psychological Society of Ireland, the Library Association of Ireland, and other bodies.
