Western's campus is one of the most beautiful in the country, spanning 400 acres of mixed architecture ranging from Gothic-style buildings to modern, sustainable structures. Its location in London, Canada's eleventh-largest city, provides students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in a thriving cultural hub of shopping, theatre, dancing, cinema, and sports. It is affectionately known as the Forest City due to its 200 parks that provide a natural backdrop. Western's teaching, research, and service missions encompass diverse activities that contribute significantly to the London community.

Student residences occupy the majority of Western's building space, accounting for approximately 31% of the total building capacity.
