The University of Quebec at Chicoutimi (UQAC) is part of the larger University of Quebec network, a government-run institution that offers college, undergraduate, and graduate programmes. The university was founded in 1969, though its history dates back to pre-Confederation. Chicoutimi, the hometown of the university is located in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region which is in the Canadian province of Quebec.
