Course Requirements:

10 half-credit courses in total, of which:
 

• A minimum of 6 must be technical. At least 3 half courses, must be taken from courses offered by MSE. Students are allowed to take graduate courses from other engineering departments to count towards their degree.

• A maximum of 4 half courses can be taken from various non-technical certificate programs, such as ELITE (Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Innovation, & Technology in Engineering), Globalization, or Engineering & Public Policy, etc.

• A student may complete an MEng Project which is equivalent to 3 technical courses but does NOT replace the required 3 MSE courses. Completion of departmental Safety Training before starting the project is required.

• students are admitted in accordance with the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) regulations
• a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) with a minimum of B (73%) over the final two years of studies from an accredited institution
• all applicants holding degrees from universities outside of Canada, in which the official language of instruction and evaluation is not English, must demonstrate facility in English (Admission Requirements)

The tuition fees for MEng in Materials Science & Engineering may vary from $50,000 to $80,000 annually for tuition fees. The fee's prices may get higher for International Students.
