About

In New Brunswick, there is a university for Canadian francophones called the Université de Moncton. It has campuses in Shippagan, Moncton, and Edmundston. Following the recommendations of the royal commission on higher education in New Brunswick, the university was established in 1963. Since that time, the organization has gained widespread recognition as the successor to several Acadian colleges and universities, including the Collège Saint Joseph. 

 

A campus modelled after a thriving and diverse university that offers a wide range of bachelor's, master's, and doctorate programmes through knowledgeable and approachable faculty. It brings all the components of a fulfilling social life and student life together and is situated in a vibrant area of culture and entertainment in Moncton.

 

With training and research programmes in management, the arts, social sciences, law, engineering, the natural sciences, health, social work, and education, the university aspires to be a comprehensive institution. As of December 1, 2021, the institution had 4 655 full-time students and 515 part-time students, making it the largest purely French-language university in Canada outside of Quebec. Of the total student body, 65.5% were from New Brunswick and 27.4% were from abroad.

Library Facilities 

The Champlain Library provides a wide range of resources to its patrons, including printed books, electronic books, newspapers, online articles from periodicals (databases),  geographic atlases, dictionaries, statistics, etc. The university also houses the Michel-Bastarache Law Library,  Educational Resource Center, and Anselme-Chiasson Center for Acadian Studies. 

 

Housing Facilities 

Twenty pavilions, the Louis-J.-Robichaud sports complex, the J.-Louis-Lévesque arena, the Acadian Museum, the Louise-et-Ruben-Cohen Art Gallery, as well as several houses and apartments are all part of the Moncton Campus (rooms, studios, and university apartments). Here, it is recognized that having a comfortable home and being surrounded by a secure and welcoming community improves your college experience. Dining Facilities

The campus cafeteria is called ‘Bistro Le 63’ which is located at the Student Centre on campus. You can choose your meal plan according to your preferences (vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan). The campus also provides a kitchenette in the student’s single-occupation dorm room and weekly transportation to a grocery store as well as a food allocation.
