Since 2007, the university's trademark has been "Canada's Green University." It is a member of the University of the Arctic due to its great northern latitude. The indigenous Dakelh Elders inspired UNBC's slogan, En Cha Hunà, which translates as "he/she also lives," implying respect for all life.
