Overview

About

The lone federated college at the University of Saskatchewan is St. Thomas More College (STM), which bears St. Thomas More's name. On the Catholic bishop of Saskatoon's proposal, the university's president invited the Basilian Fathers to found the college in 1936. St. Thomas More College presents a distinctive vision and mission of Catholic post-secondary education despite being academically integrated within the University of Saskatchewan.  With an acceptance rate of 50% and around 5000 students. The college has over 240 classes in 19 different subject areas.

The college is located in Saskatchewan. Wide horizons are characteristic of this province. In the south, where the country is incredibly flat, you may occasionally see for miles. The area is not all prairie flats. In the centre and northern regions, there are lovely scenic woodlands and forests, as well as parklands with lakes for fishing. The North and South Saskatchewan rivers, which cross the province, have both their name and geographic designation. The Land of Living Skies is the moniker of the province.

Students at the college receive degrees from the University of Saskatchewan because STM does not provide degrees on its own. To prepare students for all B.A. and B.Sc. degrees, as well as the B.F.A. and B.Mus. degrees, the college collaborates with the College of Arts & Science. Anthropology, Archeology, Catholic Studies, Classical, Medieval & Renaissance Studies, Economics, English, Languages & Linguistics, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religious Studies, Ukrainian, Spanish, and Sociology are the art and science departments that the college currently offers classes in.

With the extra benefit of having, on average, smaller class sizes, some of these programmes are identical to those provided by the respective department of the College of Arts & Science, including the same course number and title. The direct transfer of all courses to the University of Saskatchewan. Every student at the University of Saskatchewan who is enrolled on campus may enrol in STM courses, regardless of whether they are registered through STM.
