About

Sobey Business School is located in Saint Mary's University (SMU) in Halifax, Nova Scotia. One of the first business programmes in Canada was launched in 1934 by the Saint Mary's University Faculty of Commerce. In 1992, the faculty of commerce was renamed Sobey school of business after Frank. H. Sobey. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International has granted The Sobey School of Business accreditation. The highest standard in management education, just 5% of business schools worldwide (or around 20 in Canada) have achieved this accreditation. 

 

The Sobey School of Business offers a reputable Bachelor of Commerce degree. It has a variety of specializations, covering entrepreneurship, finance, accounting, computing and information systems, human resource management, and labour relations. Additionally, the school offers a variety of graduate-level programmes, such as a reputable PhD programme, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Finance, a Master of Applied Economics, and a Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Executive and professional development programmes as well as the Saint Mary's University Entrepreneurship Center fall within the purview of the Sobey School.

Ranking

SMU’s Sobey school of business has garnered many awards and has been recognized numerous times for its role in the management field of Canada. The MBA programme at Sobey's was ranked in the top ten in Canada by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). In the 2018 Better World MBA Ranking published by Corporate Knights, Sobey was placed eighth globally, surpassing MIT, Harvard, and Stanford. 2015 rankings by Canadian Business placed the Sobey MBA eighth in Canada and first in Atlantic Canada.

 As a student at the School, you can join a society or student organization, compete or take part in skill-building activities, manage money (participate in student investment initiatives), and get knowledge from local leaders. Library Facilities

Students at Sobey School of Business can avail of library services at the Patrick Power library. The library houses a collection of over a million books and 6,00,000 e-books. Sobey School Of Business Entry Requirements

Whether you're a first-time applicant to Humber College, an undergraduate student seeking advanced status, or a returning student re-enrolling after a break, the admissions standards are the same for all applicants. The application fee for Sobey school of business is 40 CAD for undergraduate programmes and 110 CAD for graduate programmes. Each applicant must provide the following:
