Overview

About

The Peter B. Gustavson School of Business at the University of Victoria is a public post-secondary institution founded in 1990. The business school was originally established as the University of Victoria School of Commerce. It was later changed to Peter B. Gustavson School of Business after the late Albertan millionaire and philanthropist, Peter B. Gustavson who was a former CEO and board director of the Bank of Montreal and the Hudson's Bay Company. Gustavson was an entrepreneur who donated $20 million to the university in 2010 which helped establish the new building.

Located in Victoria, British Columbia, this Canadian institution is one of the top business schools in the country, with many programs ranked among the best in their field. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees with a focus on business management (MBA), accounting and finance (Master of Science), human resources management (Master of Science), marketing (Master's degree), and legal studies (LLM). It also offers certificate and doctoral programs in business administration and management studies, and also has a special program for women entrepreneurs. Students can choose from over 40 majors or concentrations within these majors at various levels depending on their career goals.

Fewer than one percent of the world's business schools hold both AACSB and EQUIS accreditation – and Gustavson is proud to be one of them. They are accredited by the prestigious AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and by EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System). Additionally, they are a member of the United Nations PRME initiative, and their BCom and MBA degrees (Co-op) are accredited by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL Canada). This shows the high standards in their programs, policies, learning goals, faculty qualifications, research, and community connections. All the above reasons along with an excellent study environment and facilities make the school a great choice for students.
