In Sackville, New Brunswick, Mount Allison University (usually known as Mount A or MtA) is mainly an undergraduate liberal arts university that was established in Canada in 1839. The first institution in the British Empire to grant a woman a Bachelor's degree was Mount Allison. The highest number of Rhodes Scholarships per student of any British Commonwealth university, 55 have been given to Mount Allison graduates.
