In Sackville, New Brunswick, Mount Allison University (usually known as Mount A or MtA) is mainly an undergraduate liberal arts university that was established in Canada in 1839. The first institution in the British Empire to grant a woman a Bachelor's degree was Mount Allison. The highest number of Rhodes Scholarships per student of any British Commonwealth university, 55 have been given to Mount Allison graduates. According to endowment per student, Mount Allison is one of the wealthiest universities in Canada. Mount A has the largest endowment fund per student in Canada out of the 69 universities that reported on endowment funds on a national level.
