About
The Memorial University of Newfoundland is one of the major institutions in Atlantic Canada. It was founded in 1925 as Memorial University College (MUC) as a legacy to the Newfoundlanders who died in World War I. Memorial University, as it is popularly referred to, is Newfoundland and Labrador's sole university with a special obligation to the residents of the province.
