About

Lakehead University (LU) is a large public research university in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1965 and provides a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate study opportunities, with over 60 subjects of study to select from. Their academic divisions include aboriginal education, biology, law, business, education, music, and many more subjects. Furthermore, the institution is home to 11 Canada Research Chairs as well as ground-breaking facilities such as the world-renowned Paleo DNA Laboratory and the Bio-refining Research Institute.

 

The university has two campuses, one each in Orillia and Thunder Bay. The Thunder Bay Campus is home to 7,500 students in total. The campus in Orillia is home to more than 1,500 students. The Thunder Bay campus is surrounded by fields and greenery, and since all the buildings are situated in the same area, the school has a unique campus feel to it.
