About
King's University College (abbreviated as King's College or simply King's) is a University of Western Ontario affiliated university college in London, Ontario, Canada. It is a Roman Catholic liberal arts institution that is co-educational. Originally known as Christ the King College, the school was established to provide liberal arts studies to the all-male seminary. The school was established in 1954 and commenced classes in 1955. The university has been technically owned and operated by the diocese since it began. In 1972, it assumed responsibility for the college's general operations and governance. The incorporation procedure was the next step in King's development as a significant Catholic university in Canada. The Vatican approved the transfer, which had been discussed for some years, in August 2012. As part of the deal, King's received official ownership of the land and buildings that are now in its footprint. After several government regulatory formalities were completed, the transfer was completed in December 2013. In 2012, the current name was adopted.
King’s University College’s acceptance rate stands at 70% and is the largest affiliated college of the University of Western Ontario that enrols 3,740+ undergraduate students and 50+ graduate students. It has ties to St. Peter's Seminary and the University of Western Ontario. Through its relationship with St. Peter's Seminary, the university college provides programs in the arts, social science, childcare, and social institutions, management and organizational studies, social justice, and peace studies, social work, and theology.

Academic Facilities: The original Monsignor Wemple Building on the north side of Epworth Avenue had classrooms, the original Monsignor Wemple Library, chapel, offices, and the dining hall on the lower and ground floors, and housing accommodations on the upper floors. In 1970 and 1980, the Lester A. Wemple Library was extended. In 1970, the college building was enlarged to incorporate two lecture halls and more classrooms.
Library: Construction on a new two-story library along Waterloo Street, near the Silverwood mansion now known as Dante Lenardon Hall, began in July 1994. In addition to research tools, the Eaton Special Collections Room (named after the Eaton Foundation) is housed in the library. The Eaton Room contains rare and archive material, including about 750 volumes from the late 14th to the early 18th centuries.
Media: The Regis is a student-run and funded publication that debuted in 2009. The magazine editions are published quarterly by the King’s College Students' Council at the University of Western Ontario. It serves the student readership by reporting news, amusing readers, and encouraging debates on topics affecting the King's and Western communities, as well as the City of London.
