About

Haskayne School of Business was established in 1967 at the University of Calgary. Nearly 4,000 full- and part-time students are enrolled in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programmes at the business school, together with over 1,000 participants in its executive education program. With more than 27,000 graduates in more than 90 countries worldwide, the school plays a significant role in developing the next generation of leaders in Canada's most entrepreneurial city. 

 

The school was first established in 1967 as the Faculty of Business, changed its name to the Faculty of Management in 1978, and then in 2002, it was renamed in Richard F. Haskayne's honour. Ralph Scurfield, his family, and the Nu-West Group of Companies donated money to build Scurfield Hall, which the faculty moved into in 1986.

 

The Haskayne School of Business provides a wide range of degree programmes, such as the Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Management, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive MBA, PhD in Management, Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and an interdisciplinary Master of Science degree in Sustainable Energy Development. It also provides a Diploma in Data Science and Analytics, Post-Degree Graduate Certificates, Embedded Certificates, and a full range of open and customized Executive Edu programmes.

Ranking

Haskayne School of Business ranks #201 according to QS World University Rankings: Global MBA Rankings 2021. It ranked in the 18th position among Canadian Universities ranking according to QS Global MBA Rankings: Canada 2021. As per the 2021 rankings published by Maclean’s, Haskayne School of Business was ranked among the 20 best business schools in Canada. The university has a world-renowned faculty and staff whose contributions have helped the university achieve many high ranks.

Facilities

The Haskayne School of Management has campuses in Scurfield Hall (the main University of Calgary campus) and Central Calgary (the business district campus). The institution offers libraries, cafeterias, and student housing. On campus, there are various student clubs and organisations that encourage student involvement outside of the classroom. 

Library Services

The Haskayne School of Business Library is a vibrant research facility dedicated to offering its faculty, staff, and students a high standard of support and resources. More than 60 business and business-related databases are accessible through the Business Library both on and off campus. More than 800 databases, including those covering many different fields and formats including video and photos, are also accessible through the library. Thousands of volumes are also available in the Library both online and on paper.

Housing Services 

At Haskayne, living in residence puts you in the best possible proximity to all of your needs, including your classes, your bed, world-class amenities, food (All You Care to Eat), study areas, tunnels, and academic and mental health assistance. The University of Calgary provides a variety of homes on campus because the majority of undergraduate and graduate students live there. On-campus housing is available for about 2,500 students and faculty personnel. In the residence that is set up like a dorm, students under 21 are given a single or double occupancy room. The university's Qatar Campus is home to 450 students from 39 different nations.
