About

The College of the Rockies (COTR) is a public community college located in the southeast of British Columbia in Cranbrook, Canada. Regional campuses are located in Creston, Fernie, Golden, Invermere, and Kimberley in addition to the main campus in Cranbrook, Canada. The College provides educational services to a huge 45,000-square-kilometer region that is home to over 82,700 people. High mountain ranges can be found in the area known as the Rocky Mountain Trench, which is divided by ecologically significant valleys and water systems.

 

The Canadian Heraldic Authority registered the College of the Rockies' arms on March 1st, 2000. In October 2002, Kids on Campus, a brand-new daycare center, was finished. On the Cranbrook Campus, a wireless network for laptops was introduced in November 2004. A $16.2 million development that included a new academic building and a new Trades facility was finished on the Cranbrook Campus in 2007. As part of the Knowledge Infrastructure Program, the Federal and Provincial governments awarded COTR $12.7 million in 2009 so that it may upgrade and extend the buildings on its Cranbrook campus. In October 2010, this project was finished ahead of time.

 

College of the Rockies' acceptance rate is around 90%. In the 2011-2012 academic year, the college served 2,282 full-time equivalent students, including 137 international full-time equivalent students from 30 different countries, 1,769 sponsored students, 112 entry-level trades training students, and 401 apprentices. In the fields of university studies, adult basic education, health, child, youth, and family studies, administrative studies, tourism, computer technology, fire services, and trades, the institution provides a wide range of programs, both in-person and online. The College launched the Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices as its inaugural four-year degree program on June 16, 2010. An important turning point in the college’s 35-year development was recognized by this announcement.

 

Alumni of the COTR contribute more than $315 million annually to the local economy. The alumni, from the fields of nursing to construction, make a difference in their communities every day. Facilities

The majority of administrative divisions, student services, and trades programs are located on the college’s main campus. The Timber Framing program and Continuing Education Health and Safety courses are located at the Gold Creek facility. There are five regional campuses that provide a wide range of programs, courses, and services to the communities and individuals they serve. A handful offers their own "signature" programs—something distinctive and special—but the majority offer adult basic education courses.

Admission

College of the Rockies Entry Requirements

To be considered for admission to COTR, applicants must submit an online application and pay the required application cost which is around CA$ 30. Before submitting an application for a Canada Study Permit, you must accept the admissions offer and pay the tuition. Students also need to make sure to check the entrance criteria and/or prerequisites for their specific program or course. College of the Rockies Placements
