About
College Boreal is a College of Applied Arts and Technology in French that serves Northern and Central Southwestern Ontario. It is the youngest of the 24 Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology, the college has outperformed all other Ontario community colleges in terms of graduation rates and graduate satisfaction. It is based in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and has 42 access centers overall spread around 28 locations in the province, including main campuses in Timmins, Hamilton, Hearst, Kapuskasing, London, Nipissing, Sudbury, and Windsor. The postsecondary Collège Boréal, which opened its doors in 1995, provides students with technical programs that allow them to enter the multilingual labor market. The former Collège des Grands-Lacs' programs and services were taken over by the college when it established a campus in Toronto in 2002. The new campus in Toronto, which was inaugurated on September 27, 2012, is now situated at One Yonge Street.
In its five schools—the School of Health Sciences, the School of Trades and Applied Technologies, the School of Arts, the School of Advancement, and the School of Business and Community Services—College Boréal provides 78 postsecondary and apprenticeship programs. The college’s network now has 31 videoconference rooms and 112 online training centers thanks to a partnership with Contact North.
The university’s notable alumni include around 17.000 members. The Alumni Association enables alumni who have gone on to become professionals to arrange meetings and share acts with current students and learners. The association's network is proven to be crucial at a time when professional integration and joining the labor market might be challenging. Beyond just the potential for establishing a support system, however, it aids in the defense of shared ideals, the promotion of and identification with the status quo, and the wonderful Boréal family.

Facilities
College Boreal facilities have a variety of educational goals in a number of activity sectors in addition to its campuses and access centers. Among the key areas of specialization are environmental technology, health sciences, trades, culinary arts, and community services.
The Minshall Museum moved into its permanent residence in 2007 and is now located on the second floor of the college's main building. This collection of naturalized animals, a gift from the late Aubrey Minshall's family, is a gold mine for students in the Natural Resources programs. At the main site in Sudbury, the Xstrata Nickel Biodiversity Applied Research Centre was inaugurated in 2009. Aiming to regreen Greater Sudbury and the mining operations in the northern portion of the province, the center has a production capacity of 5,00,000 trees annually. A 2,100-acre experimental forest has been developed since 2011 to give students in forestry studies a greater outdoor experience.
The Louis-Riel Centre was established in 2010 with the aim of providing a wide range of services to indigenous students. Every year, several workshops and performances are held, such as the Aboriginal Pride Nights, which in 2013 featured artists Florent Vollant and Elisapie Isaac. In order to give the culinary arts students a platform to showcase their skills, the college launched a new restaurant in 2011 called Au pied du rocher. The Canadian Food and Wine Institute at Niagara College collaborates with the program's administration.
The college unveiled a brand-new campus in 2012 at One Yonge Street, right in the middle of Toronto. To the great joy of Greater Sudbury's art and culture enthusiasts, a brand-new concert hall with 358 seats also opened its doors in the same year. Additionally, the Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario (TNO), the Sudbury theater production center, has had its headquarters on the city's main campus since 1997.

Admission
College Boreal Entry Requirements
The Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS) is used to submit applications to College Boreal with an application fee of CA$ 95. One application may be used by applicants to select up to five courses of their choosing (three programs maximum per college). The admission decision is sent to applicants by mail to their home addresses by February 1. By May 1, students must either accept or reject the offer. International students seeking admission need to submit the following College Boreal entry requirements -
- Applicants must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, such as ACE.
- Applicants who are 19 years or older and do not possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma have enrolled as mature students if they meet the prerequisite requirements.
- The applicants are required to demonstrate minimum proficiency in English and French language to get accepted into the College Boreal.
