About
Assiniboine Community College (ACC) is a community college located in the Canadian province of Brandon, Manitoba. The Manitoba Council on Post-Secondary Education, established by the provincial government of Manitoba accredited the college. Brandon is home to ACC’s North Hill and Victoria Avenue East campuses, and Dauphin is home to the Parkland School (a satellite campus). Other places such as Swan River, Steinbach, Winnipeg, Russell, Neepawa, and Russell also have training facilities. The Brandon Vocational Training Centre of ACC officially opened its doors in 1961. When the institution originally started, it had four employees and 24 students over two courses. The school had around 300 students, 24 staff members, and 11 programs in 1966.

The college offers programs leading to diplomas, certificates, apprenticeships, and continuing education. The practical nursing diploma is the college's most popular curriculum and it was made available in 2007 in Brandon, Winnipeg, and two outlying Manitoba towns. Otterburne and Morden both received new rural rotational practical nursing sites in 2022. The provincial government invested in 55 new Licensed Practical Nursing seats through the college in Portage la Prairie and rural rotating sites in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The university has a good relationship with its alumni members and the goal of the Alumni Association is to improve ties between current students and alumni. The alumni receive a number of perks, such as a variety of employment options from the college, access to the library, a lifetime of free educational possibilities, and computers to help them update their resumes and hunt for employment, among other things. The Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts (MICA), which houses ACC’s culinary arts, hotel & restaurant management, and horticultural production programs, is one of the campuses spread out over southern Manitoba. Shops, labs, classrooms, and offices make up a total of 130,000 square feet at the Len Evans Centre for Trades and Technology (LECTT). Every year, more than 800 students from eight different construction and mechanical trades programs are housed in the building, which offers a contemporary, integrated setting with an open design. The Parkland campus, which is located in Dauphin, Manitoba, underwent $3.5 million in improvements that allowed the college to increase the quality of training for programs leading to high school diplomas in business administration, carpentry, and woodworking, comprehensive health care aide, early childhood education, and mature student high school.
